Kings Camp faces an open savanna plain with a waterhole, which is frequented by a wide variety of wildlife both day and night. As part of the Greater Kruger National Park, which covers an area of 2.2 million hectares, this safari lodge is a wildlife haven boasting a diversity of animal life including the Big 5, cheetah, African wild dog and hyena. With 100 km² of bush to traverse, you have plenty of space to explore the endless variety of wildlife in an open Land Rover or on foot.
From romantic honeymoons and photographic expeditions to yoga in the heart of the bushveld and intimate weddings, there is a safari for every occasion. Our experiences are designed to unveil the wonders of Timbavati.
Made up of six Luxury Suites, one Luxury Family Suite, two Honeymoon Suites and a private villa, Kings Camp offers the perfect Kruger Park safari escape. The lodge is positioned on the edge of a savanna plain and the grounds are dappled with the shade of Acacia trees. A vast array of wildlife frequent the watering hole and the camp grounds both day and night, allowing for spectacular game viewing from the doorstep of this lodge.
From an underground hide to various dining areas, we boast an array of convenient facilities to ensure that guests receive a highly personalised and memorable safari experience. Spend warm afternoons in the thatched viewing lounge overlooking the active waterhole or in the cool interior of the informal open-plan lounge and bar with a refreshing drink in hand.
Guests planning a Safari at Kings Camp can look forward to twice daily game drives in custom-designed safari vehicles, night drives with a spotlight in search of nocturnal creatures, guided bush walks and specialised bird watching safaris with expert guides. The Timbavati is especially well known for its frequent elephant sightings, as well as leopard and rare African wild dog. It is also home to over 350 bird species, making it a must-see destination for keen bird watchers. Game Walks through the bush take place just after breakfast, on request. Your knowledgeable ranger will guide you as you uncover this new aspect of the fauna and flora of the Timbavati Nature Reserve. You will be amazed to discover animal tracks, dung, insects and trees and how they all play a part in an intricate ecological web. For safety reasons, children under 16 years of age are not permitted on walks.
