Shindzela Tented Camp

Stacks Image 3024
Established in 2009 as a mere walking trails camp, consisting out of small bow tents, Shindzela has grown into the wonderful, tented product that is before you. Situated within the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa, Shindzela offers guests an authentic African wildlife experience.
The eco-friendly (solar-powered) camp is the perfect place where one can feel part of the bush.  We are passionate about conservation and our staff strive to make guests feel right at home.  Our aim is to provide an enjoyable and fulfilling experience in an exceptional wilderness area.
Enjoy dinner under the African stars in our boma-style set-up (weather permitting). Plated African dishes are served with delicious vegetables, meats and salads of your selection. Freshly baked breads are provided on each table together with our hearty soups served as starter. Enjoying your supper with your guide and hostess is African outdoor dining at its best.
Our safari-style tents are situated under thatch (grass-roof structures) and can be made up in either twin or double-bedded accommodation. Enjoy your morning coffee on your wooden deck or freshen up in your semi-open en-suite bathroom (shower, WC and handbasin). The camp can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests in total in 8 safari tents where you will be treated to our warm South African hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy and soak up the true African wilderness.
Guests can take a dip in or sit around the pool reading and enjoying their drinks with a spectacular view of the waterhole.
We know how important our planet is, therefore, we are proud to say that we are very much an Eco-Friendly camp, making use of solar power and gas energy! This means, that you won’t find a power outlet in your tent, rather a charging station in the main area, where you can recharge your batteries for that perfect picture!

Shindzela’s layout encompasses of an open-plan lounge, dining room (breakfast and lunch served here) bar area overlooking a dry riverbed and a small watering hole where animals flock for a drink of water during the hot summer days. We also have a small swimming pool where you can enjoy your book or just stare out into the bush. Open-air boma where we serve dinner (weather permitting)
