Thabamati Luxury Tented Camp

Thabamati Luxury Tented Camp is a venture by the dedicated team of conservation-minded people situated in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve that forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa.
Thabamati, meaning “mountain and water”, became a reality in 2019. The camp consists of 4 luxurious and spacious en-suite safari-style tents, each overlooking a beautiful dam with amazing views of the Drakensberg Mountains beyond. The elegant intimate tented camp accommodates only 8 guests, which is an added attraction.
The highlight is probably observing the wildlife, including the Big Five and numerous bird species, in their natural surroundings during our game drives and optional daily short bush-walks.
The camp is eco-friendly, utilizing only solar power and gas, however still offering modern day luxuries. This means that you can enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer with a green conscience.
Upon your arrival, you will be met by our dynamic and experienced team who will see to it that all your needs are met. Relax and enjoy your safari vacation, knowing that you are in good hands.
The luxury Java safari-style tent is situated next to a dam and is built in such a way that each has a view of the water. All tents are an open-plan concept furnished with a writing desk, seating area, bedroom, en-suite bathroom with a private WC. Luxurious free-standing bath, inside and outside shower, all with views overlooking the dam. Amenities with the scents of Africa are provided for your enjoyment.
Enjoy morning coffee/tea on your private deck staring out over the water, before embarking on the morning safari. Return to camp, enjoy a selection of pastries, fruits, freshly baked breads, cheeses followed by a hot breakfast.
Bushwalks are offered after breakfast for about an hour. Upon completion, enjoy the views with a good book or cool down in the pool before high tea is served followed by your afternoon safari. Enjoy the evening sky and fire crackling in the boma for dinner before turning in for the night.
